  • Swearing-in ceremonies have been scheduled at the state Capitol for all members of the Oklahoma House and Senate who were elected or re-elected this year.

Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Steven Taylor will administer the oath of office on Wednesday to the 101 members of the House during a ceremony at 11 a.m. in the House chamber.

The eight newly elected and 16 re-elected members of the Senate will take their oaths of office in the Senate chamber at noon. Only half of the 48-member Senate is up for re-election each election cycle.

Republicans extended their majorities in both chambers and now have a 36-12 advantage in the Senate and a 72-29 edge in the House.

Both GOP majorities are the largest in state history.
