Oklahoma State District 17 Sen. Ron Sharp was given the Oath of Office this week in Oklahoma City. Along with him were other local politicians, District 26 Rep. Justin Wood and District 27 Rep. Josh Cockroft.
“We’ve started caucus meetings to determine the issues for next session,” Sharp said. “We’re trying to get everything ready for next session.”
Sharp said he wanted to thank his constituents.
“I definitely appreciate them giving me the opportunity to serve District 17,” he added.
“I am humbled to have the privilege of serving the people of District 27 for the next two years,” Cockroft said in a statement. “…I have already begun work on crafting legislation at the Capitol to improve public safety and ensure property rights are protected…”
“It was a humbling experience being sworn in for the first time,” Wood said in a statement. “…I’d like to once again thank my constituents for sending me to represent them at the state Capitol. I have always represented Shawnee in my endeavors and I look forward to serving you with respect, integrity and honor.”
