  • Dale doubled up on Amber-Pocasset Friday night as Class 2A’s fifth-ranked Lady Pirates recorded a 37-22 win prior to the No. 3 Pirates’ 68-42 triumph.
    Dale’s Lexes Satterwhite led all scorers in the girls’ game with 16 as she went 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. She also drained three shots from 3-point range.
    Breck Clark added nine points for Dale, and led her team with eight rebounds. Danielle Dockrey scored eight points as the Lady Pirates improved to 3-0.
    No. 17 Am-Po got 10 points from Dontasia McAfee, and six from Faith Mays.
    Dale led 12-2 after one quarter, and 21-7 at the half. Am-Po closed to within 24-20 after three quarters before Dale finished the outing on a 13-2 run.
    Three Pirates hit double figures in the boys’ game, led by Jace Wilkins at 16. Evan Anderson and Dustin Starks supplied 14 apiece as the Pirates moved to 2-1 on the season.
    Wilkins hit one trey and went 3-for-4 on charity tosses and had seven assists, and Anderson provided seven rebounds and eight assists. Stark was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.
    The Pirates were 7-for-10 from the stripe.
    Am-Po’s Ryan Cauthen led all scorers with 18, and teammate Levi Trickett added a dozen.
    Dale led 18-10 after the first quarter, 32-22 at the break, and 47-26 after three quarters.
    Dale will go to Roff Tuesday.
