Shawnee City Commissioners will meet to discuss several issues Monday night, including several rezonings.
Seven rezone requests will be heard, including a request for a conditional use permit for selling alcohol for a liquor store to be located at 45th and Kickapoo streets.
Another potential rezone includes a Hardship request for temporary placement of a mobile home on property at 31909 Lake Road. The planning commission recommended denying this request.
Another item regarding rezonings includes a possible moratorium on boarding or rooming houses in all zoning districts.
Additionally the Airport Pedestrian Trail contract will be awarded. The city is recommending the project be awarded to Bishop Paving for the amount of $633,409.90. However the city only has $410,000, which leaves more than $220,000 to be raised.
In a memorandum, City Engineer John Krywicki recommended using the excess funds from the Expo Parking Lot Project, which total more than $50,000. Additionally Krywicki recommended using excess funds from the 302 Street Fund, because some funds are unallocated, he stated in the memorandum.
Additionally, the Shawnee Municipal Authority and the Shawnee Airport Authority will vote on moving excess money over from the 2012 budget to the 2013 budget.
The Shawnee City Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in Commission Chambers at Shawnee City Hall.
