Little Axe High School standout Sammy Leisinger signed Monday to play softball at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Leisinger is an All-State shortstop, who was a three-time All-Conference selection. She led Coach Mike Bread’s LAHS squad to three Class 3A State Championships and was LAHS Offensive Player of the Year.
“Sammy is a solid player,” said OBU Coach Pam Fink. “She plays hard every day and she plays to win. She will be a great addition to our program.”
Leisinger, a lead-off batter, hit .443 with two home runs and 33 RBI to go with 18 RBI, 10 stolen bases and a .481 on-base percentage. She also plays for Oklahoma Athletics Gold, which placed fifth in the ASA Gold Nationals.
Sammy is the daughter of Greg and Sunny Leisinger.
“I loved the atmosphere whenever I came on campus,” Leisinger said. “It just felt right.”
