  • Despite Taron Carter’s 18, the Dale JV couldn’t hold off a furious fourth-quarter surge from Roff as the Pirates fell, 54-49, to the Tigers Tuesday night.

Carter hit four three-pointers on the night, and Dale opened up a 15-6 advantage after the first quarter. The lead was seven heading into the final stanza, but the Pirates ran out of steam, surrendering a 12-point swing to the host Tigers.

Roff was led by Dalton Madden’s 12 points. Zach Lewis has 11 for the Tigers.

Landon Draper added 13 points and three treys for Dale.

Since the Dale JV played in place of the varsity, which will play in the Tournament of Champions in December, the game will not officially count in the standings.

The Pirates are off until next Tuesday, Nov. 27 when they head to Okarche.
