  • Clark hits career-high mark as Dale moves to 5-0

  • Breck Clark scored a career-high 39 points Tuesday as Class 2A’s fourth-ranked Dale improved to 5-0 with a 58-43 win over Class A’s top-ranked Okarche.

  • Breck Clark scored a career-high 39 points Tuesday as Class 2A’s fourth-ranked Dale improved to 5-0 with a 58-43 win over Class A’s top-ranked Okarche.
     
    Clark hit one from 3-point range and was 10-for-11 at the free throw line in pacing the Lady Pirates. She also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
     
    “I’m proud of our intensity for all four quarters,” said Dale coach Josh Forsythe. “We came and played with great intensity and effort and came away with a big win against a really good team.”
     
    Dale held a 15-7 lead after one quarter, and that eight-point advantage stuck for a while as both teams scored 17 in the second and 10 in the third. The Lady Pirates were able to add a little breathing room in the fourth as they closed it out on a 15-9 spurt.
     
    Dale’s Lexes Satterwhite scored five points — including one trey — and she led her team with nine assists.
     
    Brayden Newton was 2-for-2 at the free throw line as
     
    Dale finished 17-for-21 as a team.
     
    Hannah Armitage was 3-for-4.
     
    Megan Vogt led Okarche with 17 points.
     
    Dale’s fifth-ranked Pirates also came away with a win Tuesday, topping the No. 4 Warriors 46-36.
     
    Jace Wilkins of Dale and Sam Grellner of Okarche tied for high-scoring honors with 10, and Dale’s Dustin Stark, Caleb Banks and Tanner Nelson each posted nine points. Banks led the Pirates in boards with nine, and Wilkins led in assists with five.
     
    Each team garnered three shots from 3-point range.
     
    “It was a very physical game,” said Dale coach Jeff Edmonson. “We battled through a lot of foul trouble.”
     
    The Pirates are now 3-1.
     
    Dale will host Washington Friday night.
