Third-ranked Columbia held off No. 10 Oklahoma Baptist in the Pool C title tilt Thursday at the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament, 3-2. The match had lopsided scores of 25-10 Columbia, 25-14 OBU, 25-18 Columbia, 25-21 OBU and 15-8 Columbia. “Columbia is a very good team and they have some things we haven’t seen much of this season,” said OBU coach Anna Howle. “They put a lot of speed on the ball with their outsides. We are equal to or better defensively than our opponent most nights and they out-defended us tonight. “We have a couple of people that need to step up, but after the match everyone was saying we need to learn from this and I think we will.” Skyler Strahm led OBU with 16 kills, while Tarah Derden added 11. Kristin Pressley added eight kills and led the defense with 13 digs. Sabra Clark had 34 assists. Gabby Samuels and Kaitlyn Lucy had a dozen digs apiece and Clark added three solo blocks.
