  • Oklahoma Baptist got one last acknowledgement for its volleyball team to hang its hat on — the best ranking in the program’s history.
The NAIA Postseason Coaches’ Poll has the Lady Bison moving from 10th to fifth in the nation.
After playing national runner-up Columbia to five sets and semifinalist Texas-Brownsville to four in the quarterfinals, the Lady Bison were recognized as the best team outside the final four.
OBU finished the season with a school-record 35 wins, its third regular season conference championship, its second SAC Tournament title in a row, the NAIA Tournament Champions of Character Team Award, its first appearance at the NAIA Final Site, first NAIA Tournament pool and bracket wins and a number of individual honors.
The team also carries a conference win streak of 30 matches into next season.
