Oklahoma Baptist University’s Bison swim team is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Top 25 ranking released Tuesday, while the Lady Bison are second in the women’s poll. OBU is the defending men’s national champion and the Lady Bison are last season’s runner-up. “We’re just not that good yet,” said OBU coach Sam Freas. “There’s a team flying under the radar right now, but we’ll see.” The OBU men received four of five first-place votes and have 27 points in the poll. Concordia is second at 17, followed by Savannah College of Art and Design at No. 3, Cumberlands at No. 4 with 13 points and Union (Ky.) in fifth with four points. Cumberlands had a first-place vote. On the women’s side, Cumberlands is ranked first with three first-place votes and 22 points. OBU has the other two first-place votes and is in second with 21 points. SCAD is third at 20, followed by Concordia in fourth with 9 points and Biola in fifth with 4. The Bison and Lady Bison return to action Dec. 13 at the Chesapeake Elite Meet at OCCC.
