  • Corbin Coker canned four 3-point field goals and Ellie Schultz had five fourth-quarter points Friday night, propelling Prague’s girls to a 45-39 victory over Stroud.

Prague had a 14-8 fourth-quarter advantage to push its mark to 2-0.

Coker was Prague’s high scorer with 16 points and Schultz added 11, including 3-of-4 charity tosses over the final eight minutes. Prague was 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.

Whytleigh Guerrero of Stroud netted 17 points, including four treys, and teammate Erin Riley deposited eight points.

Both Prague squads will travel to Seminole Friday.

Prague’s boys were not as fortunate, being unable to overcome a 20-2 first-quarter deficit in falling 46-41 to the Tigers.

“After the 20-2 debacle in the first quarter, we won the second, we won the third and we won the fourth,” said Red Devils’ coach David Day, whose crew is now 1-1 on the year. “After that, we played well.”

Prague had Stroud’s lead shaved to 27-13 at halftime, and the Red Devils trailed just 31-25 after three quarters. Prague was in the lead in the late going when Stroud’s Justin Morris hit a trey that put the Tigers up by 1 with 26.2 seconds to go, and the visitors remained in front from there.

Stroud’s Ryan McElvaney and Prague’s Tyler Ouderkirk tied for high-scoring honors with 13 apiece. Morris finished with 12 for the Tigers, and teammate Dalton Baade added 11. Prague’s Mark Montgomery also scored 11.
