Wildcats top Hornets in tourney

Earlsboro’s Ethan Bateman put up 21 points as the Wildcats outgunned Macomb 51-40 in Little River Conference Tournament action Thursday night.

Earlsboro held a slim lead over the Hornets after the first quarter, but an 18-6 second-quarter burst helped the Wildcats open a 34-19 halftime advantage.

Derick McCormick chipped in 16 points for Earlsboro. Jose Chavez led the Hornets with 18.

The Wildcats will continue tournament play today against Sasakwa at 6:15 p.m.
