  • Zach Fowler scored 14 points in five minutes on his way to a 33-point evening as Asher flew past Roff 63-54 Friday night to cement a place in the Pontotoc County Tournament finals. Fowler, who got into foul trouble early, watched from the bench as the host Tigers jumped out to a 15-6 first-quarter advantage. With five minutes remaining in the second quarter, Indians coach Lance Weeks reinserted Fowler and reaped the benefits as Fowler led Asher to a 23-point quarter and a one-point halftime lead. Fowler finished the game with three treys. The Indians led by two after three quarters, but closed out Roff in the fourth to win by nine. Three Tigers scored in double figures, while Caleb Dubler added 13 for Asher. Asher will play in the finals at 7:30 tonight against a foe to be decided. Note: Report compiled by Chuck Porter.
