Class 5A's 19th-ranked Shawnee Wolves suffered a 58-43 loss to Class 6A's No. 20 Norman Friday in the semifinals of the Durant Tournament, and the Wolves will now face Suburban Conference foe and 14th-ranked Deer Creek at 4:20 p.m. today in the third-place contest.
Shawnee fell behind 14-11 in the first quarter, and trailed 25-11 at the break Friday. Norman's Michael Kish hit back-to-back shots from 3-point range in the third quarter, and the Tigers hit 10 of 15 fourth-quarter free throws to put the game out of reach.
"That really sparked them," Shawnee coach Ron Arthur said of Kish's two treys. "It was a tough hill to climb."
The Tigers finished at 13-for-20 from the charity stripe, and garnered five total shots from outside the arch.
Four Tigers reached double figures, with Sam Blodgett in front with 15.
Shawnee's Trey Maston led all scorers with 18, and teammate Marquese Tramble provided a dozen points. The Wolves hit six treys, including five by Maston, and they finished at 7-for-16 on foul shots.
The Wolves are 1-3 on the season.
