Down 21-11 to Christian Heritage midway through the second quarter, Dale’s Pirates needed a spark. They got it in Jace Wilkins, whose pinpoint passing helped Dale explode on a 39-6 run that spanned two whole quarters and open up a 23-point lead en route to a 52-37 win over the Crusaders Friday night. The Pirates outscored Christian Heritage 17-3 in the decisive third quarter. Wilkins, who had eight points, also dished out nine assists. The Pirate tandem of Hunter Pinkston and Evan Anderson combined for 29 points, and Dustin Stark added 10 points, including two treys. Brothers Gabe and Caleb Littlejim led Christian Heritage, combining for 22 points. The win improves the sixth-ranked (2A) Pirates to 7-1 on the season. Dale will face Luther at home Tuesday night.
