Local pharmacist Tim Barrick was honored as Kiwanis Citizen of the Year.
Barrick is involved in several community outreach programs, as well as running The Clinic Pharmacy.
Barrick graduated from Shawnee High School before attending the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. He currently teaches at an adjunct at the OU College of Pharmacy.
Barrick attends St. Benedict’s Catholic Church along with his wife, Jamie, and two sons Grant and Jack.
He has been involved in several service organizations, including the Shawnee Jaycees, The Troy and Dollie Smith Family YMCA Board of Directors, Shawnee United Way, Rotary Club, Shawnee Youth Baseball Board of Directors, Shawnee High School Basketball Boosters, and the Shawnee High School Golf Booster Club.
Barrick volunteers at the Pottawatomie County Free Clinic, and is also a member of the Greater Shawnee Area Chamber of Commerce.
“I appreciate the award,” Barrick said. “It was a huge surprise.”
“They [Kiwanis] make such a positive impact,” he added. “To receive an award from them makes it that much more special.”
