  • The third-ranked, Class 2A Dale girls scored the first 30 points of the game Tuesday night in handing outmanned Luther a 63-21 defeat.

  • The third-ranked, Class 2A Dale girls scored the first 30 points of the game Tuesday night in handing outmanned Luther a 63-21 defeat.
     
    Dale, 9-1, led 20-0 after one quarter and 38-4 at the intermission.
     
    Senior Breck Clark was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points. She also added a team-high nine rebounds to go along with three steals.
     
    Brayden Newton posted 10 points for Dale while Jaelen Flewallen combined eight points with five steals.
    Senior Sam Barry blocked four shots.
     
    Dale head coach Josh Forsythe employed 15 players and nine scored.
     
    Dale’s boys, ranked sixth in 2A, needed two free throws by Jace Wilkins with six seconds remaining for a 42-41 victory over Luther.
     
    Wilkins also had a 3-point field goal before the game-winning charity tosses.
     
    Luther misfired on a 3-point field goal at the buzzer.
     
    Evan Anderson fueled Dale, 8-1, with 16 points. Wilkins and teammate Hunter Pinkston finished with nine ponts apiece.
     
    Anderson had six rebounds while Wilkins finished with five rebounds and eight assists.
     
    The Dale boys will play in the Tournament of Champions beginning Dec. 27 at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.
    Dale’s girls will travel to Latta Jan. 4.
