  • A pedestrian standing in the eastbound lane of MacArthur Street was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle near U.S. 177.

    A pedestrian standing in the eastbound lane of MacArthur Street was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle near U.S. 177.
    Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tyson Wright’s report shows the accident occurred just before 7 p.m. on MacArthur Street, slightly west of U.S. 177 in Pottawatomie County.
    The pedestrian, Ellis Talmasey, 55, Tecumseh, died at the scene from head, chest and leg injuries, the OHP reported.
    Wright’s report shows the pedestrian was standing in the eastbound lane of MacArthur Street. A 2007 Mitsubishi Gallant driven by Susan Hardison, 64, Shawnee, was eastbound and struck the pedestrian. She was not injured, the patrol said.
    A Medi Flight helicopter was called to the scene but was cancelled when first responders reported the accident involved a fatality.
    Cause of the accident was listed on the trooper’s report as pedestrian action.
