One family received an unexpected Christmas present as they welcomed a new baby Christmas night.
Baby girl Hamiyah Burgess was born to Harley Burgess and Tesla Davenport at 8 p.m. Christmas evening at St Anthony Shawnee.
Hamiyah was born weighing six pounds and six ounces, and was 19 inches long.
Her parents dressed her up in a Santa suit for her first picture, in honor of the holiday.
Burgess added that this made Christmas presents a lot easier.
Burgess said Hamiyah was slightly unexpected because she wasn’t due until Jan. 13. She is very healthy though, Burgess said.
He explained that Hamiyah is not a family name, but was chosen by Davenport and himself. They both really liked the name, he said.
Both parents were very pleased with their early arrival.
“We just got the gift of all gifts,” Burgess said.
“I’m thankful for my Christmas present,” Davenport said.
