  • Breck Clark notched a double-double, Lexes Satterwhite splashed in two three-pointers and Class 2A’s third-ranked Dale cruised to a 44-20 win over host Latta Friday night.

The Lady Pirates (10-1) never trailed in the game, and put the Lady Panthers away for good with a dominant 14-2 fourth quarter run.

Clark scored 17 points and snagged 11 boards for Dale, which will host Wellston Tuesday. Satterwhite added six points, while Danielle Dockrey chipped in four points.
Dockrey also grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists.

Dale’s boys also benefited from a double-double as Evan Anderson dropped in 24 points and pulled down 12 boards in the seventh-ranked Pirates’ 53-39 upset of the No. 3 Panthers.

Latta defeated Dale earlier in the season at Dale.

“It was nice to avenge that loss at their place,” said Dale head coach Jeff Edmonson, whose crew sits at 10-3. “That was a big win. We got off to a slow start, but the kids responded well and made some adjustments.”

Dale trailed 12-6 after the first quarter, but picked up steam and took a 21-20 lead into the second half. The Pirates led 33-28 after three quarters, then put the game on ice with a 20-11 run in the fourth.

Dale’s Jace Wilkins went 5-for-5 on free throws and ended the night with 16 points. Teammate Caleb Banks collected six rebounds.

Trent Stork led the Panthers with 11 points.
Dale will entertain Wellston Tuesday. The girls will play at 6:30 p.m., and the junior varsity boys will follow.
