  • Prague jumped out to a 20-point first-quarter lead and never let up, demolishing the Glenpool Lady Warriors 44-32 in the first round of the Beggs Tournament Tuesday.

“We played very comfortable all the way through, which is good to see,” Prague head coach Jay Depanion said. “There were spurts of real inspired basketball, and we had been playing kind of hum-drum before the [holiday] break.”

The Lady Devils (9-1) boasted three players in double figures — Corbin Coker (13 points), Lindsey Frederick (12) and Whitney Stotler (11) — and shut out Glenpool in the third quarter.

The game was not as close as the final margin would make it seem, as Prague allowed just 14 points through the first 24 minutes of play en route to a 35-14 advantage with most of its starters resting.

Lady Warrior Asharel Adkins led all scorers with 14 points.

Coker scored nine of her baker’s dozen from behind the 3-point line.

Prague, ranked seventh in Class 3A, will face the winner of Tuesday’s Stilwell-Morris game at 5 p.m. Friday.
