  • Alan Brewer tallied a season-high 31 points Tuesday night in propelling sixth-ranked Tecumseh to a 76-62 victory over Ada.
     
    In registering its third victory of the season over Ada, Tecumseh never trailed. The Savages, 10-0, bolted to an 18-6 first-quarter lead and took a 42-23 advantage into halftime. The Savages were up 65-44 entering the fourth quarter and enjoyed a 24-point lead before Ada closed the gap to within 10 points at one juncture.
     
    Brewer, whose previous single-game scoring high this season was 23 points, was 7-of-14 from 3-point range Tuesday.
     
    Clayton Baquera chalked up 12 points for Tecumseh and Julio Hukill finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
     
    Savage Colton Owen registered nine points and a team-leading 12 rebounds.
     
    Tecumseh canned 44 percent (11-of-25) of its 3-point efforts.
     
    Easton Pingleton scored 18 points for 19th-ranked Ada.
    “We played pretty well, especially for being the first game after the Christmas break and the third game against Ada.”
     
    Tecumseh will battle Oklahoma City Casady at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the SNU/Bethany Invitational Tournament.
     
    In the girls’ opener, Ada broke out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and rolled to a 40-26 win over Tecumseh.
     
    In going to 3-0 versus Tecumseh this season, Ada received 14 points from Aaliyah Blakely and 10 from Manee Tomsen. Tomsen posted two 3-point field goals.
     
    For Tecumseh, Sutv Meely recorded 15 points, including a 4-of-8 shooting night from 3-point range. Meely added two steals. Sam Schovanec of Tecumseh recorded five points, seven rebounds and four steals.
     
    Tecumseh dropped to 3-7. The Lady Savages will oppose Deer Creek at 1 p.m. Thursday at the SNU/Bethany Invitational Tournament.
