  • Homeowner with gun surprises home invasion suspects

  • Shawnee police are investigating a home invasion situation that occurred Friday afternoon at a residence in the 32000 block of Homer Lane near Shawnee Twin Lakes.

    Shawnee police are investigating a home invasion situation that occurred Friday afternoon at a residence in the 32000 block of Homer Lane near Shawnee Twin Lakes.
    According to initial reports in the case, the occupant reported there were three Hispanic males knocking at her door before they busted in through that front door.
    According to call notes in the case, the woman had a gun pointed at the men when they came in so they retreated and fled in a maroon SUV.
    Pottawatomie County deputies responded to the scene as well as Shawnee police, who are investigating the case.
    A motion sensor trail cam captured photos of a vehicle and possible suspects at the home Friday afternoon and now police are using those photos as part of the investigation.
