Oklahoma Baptist was swept by host and Sooner Athletic Conference foe Rogers State Thursday, beginning with a 59-54 setback or the Lady Bison.

Both teams were abysmal from the field as OBU finished at 34.5 percent (20-for-58) and RSU went 15-for-53 for 28.3 percent. The foul line was the strong point — the Lady Bison were 9-for-15 for 60 percent, and the Hillcats were 6-for-19 for 63.9 percent.

OBU (7-7, 0-3 SAC) picked up a game-high 24 points from Charity Fowler, and another 17 from fellow starter Zbeyda Aremi. Fowler was 4-for-11 from 3-point range.

Leah Smith led Rogers State (13-4, 3-0 SAC) with 17, while Ariani Silva came off the bench to provide 16.

The game was tied at 26 at halftime.

OBU’s fourth-ranked Bison also met with misfortune Thursday, suffering a 67-57 loss to the Hillcats. The Bison fall to 14-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Hillcats move to 13-4 and 1-2.

RSU’s Donald Williams led the game with 19 points, and the Bison got a team-high 16 from Marques Anderson.

OBU was 33.3 percent (21-for-63) from the field, and 57.9 percent (11-for-19) from the charity stripe. The Hillcats were 19-for-48 from the floor for 39.6 percent, and were 20-for-24 from the line for 83.3 percent.

The hosts led 26-22 at halftime.

OBU returns to action Saturday against visiting USAO. The women will tip off at 3 p.m., followed by the men’s game.
