  • Seminole’s Chieftains, clinging to a 25-22 lead after three quarters, held off a Perkins-Tryon rally to come away with a 36-35 win in Thursday’s first round of the CD Warehouse Classic at Bethel High School.

  • Seminole’s Chieftains, clinging to a 25-22 lead after three quarters, held off a Perkins-Tryon rally to come away with a 36-35 win in Thursday’s first round of the CD Warehouse Classic at Bethel High School.
     
    Seminole tailed 9-6 after one quarter, but led 17-16 after at the break. Perkins-Tryon had possession with 8 seconds to play, but missed a last-second shot after going the length of the floor.
     
    Jayce Cravens fueled the Chieftain offense with a game-leading 22 points. Caleb White led the Demons with 11.
     
    “Both teams played really hard,” said Seminole coach Jeremy Bryan.
     
    Seminole will meet Heritage Hall at 5:40 p.m. today in the semifinals, while the Demons fall into the losers bracket and will meet Bridge Creek at 3 p.m.
