Dale’s Pirates and Lady Pirates each claimed the title of the Konawa Tournament Saturday, beginning with a 53-23 drubbing of Lexington by Class 2A’s second-ranked Lady Pirates.
The Dale boys, ranked sixth, followed up with a 57-42 win against the host Konawa Tigers.
Lexes Satterwhite and Breck Clark each netted a game-high 11 points for the Dale girls as they improved to 14-1 on the season. Satterwhite hit two shots from 3-point range, and also collected five rebounds and five assists.
Clark picked up one trey as the Lady Pirates finished with eight as a team. Jaelin Flewallen and Brayden Newton each hit two bombs, and Flewallen and Hannah Armitage got three boards apiece.
The Lady Pirates led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter, and 30-7 at halftime.
The Pirates (13-3) got a game-high 28 points for Evan Anderson, and that extends his streak to six games of 20 or more points. Anderson finished the night with a double-double, pulling down 16 boards.
Dale’s Jace Wilkins chipped in 15 points and added four each on steals and assists, and Caleb Banks picked up seven assists to go along with 10 points.
Wilkins and Banks each netted two 3-point field goals.
Dale led 24-16 at halftime, and 42-32 after three quarters.
“I’m real proud of our effort. We played really hard tonight, and everyone chipped in,” said Dale coach Jeff Edmonson.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates are idle until a Jan. 18 encounter with host McLoud.
