  • Seminole turns tables to top Wildcats and take third place

  • In a tale of two halves Saturday, Seminole’s Chieftains out-scored host Bethel 33-16 over the final 16 minutes to win 54-47 and claim third place in the CD Warehouse Classic.
     
    Bethel led 20-11 coming out of the first quarter, and 31-21 at the half. The Chieftains erupted for 22 third-quarter points, while holding Bethel to nine.
     
    Xavier Freeman was the ringleader for Seminole, dropping in a game-high 18 points. Teammate Jayce Cravens followed with 17.
     
    Trevor Stark and Andrew Kinnamon led Bethel with 15 apiece, and Garrett Fitzgerald added 12.
     
    Now 8-3 on the season, Seminole goes to Perkins-Tryon Tuesday. Bethel will host Henryetta.
     
    In other games Saturday from the boys’ side of the CD Warehouse Classic, Bridge Creek blistered Little Axe 54-38 for seventh place, while Perkins-Tryon edged Newcastle 34-33 in the consolation finals. The championship game between Byng and Heritage Hall has been rescheduled for Thursday because of winter weather conditions Saturday.
