OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Edmond swimming pool contractor has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to embezzlement and home repair fraud.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt says 55-year-old Gary Robert Oester entered the guilty pleas Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court.
Pruitt says Oester's 10-year prison sentence will be added to an eight-year sentence he is already serving after pleading guilty to similar charges in Logan County in July.
Pruitt says Oester operated under the trade name Indigo Custom Pools. He allegedly signed contracts to install or repair swimming pools for homeowners in Oklahoma, Canadian and Cleveland counties between March and June of 2011.
The attorney general says Oester accepted significant up-front payments, but failed to complete the work. Collectively, the victims are alleged to have lost more than $80,000.
