  • Wolves first, Lady Wolves second at home meet

  • Shawnee’s Wolves notched a first-place team finish of 602 points Thursday at the Shawnee YMCA, and the Lady Wolves were runners-up with 223 points.

  • Shawnee’s Wolves notched a first-place team finish of 602 points Thursday at the Shawnee YMCA, and the Lady Wolves were runners-up with 223 points.
     
    Carl Albert was second on the boys’ side with 389, and Midwest City was third at 88. The girls’ champion was Carl Albert at 283, and third went to Midwest City at 81.
     
    Individually for Shawnee, the Wolves picked up six first-place finishes. Mark Roselius took top honors in the 50-meter freestyle, as well as the 100 freestyle. Cade Chlouber was second in the 50 freestyle, and he recorded a state-qualifying second-place time of 1:03.56 in the 100 butterfly.
     
    Weston Foote was third in the 100 freestyle.
     
    Michael Heon took first in the 200-meter individual medley, and teammate Sean Winegardner was first in the 100 breaststroke. Logan Schultz was second in that event.
    In the 500 freestyle, Josh Kalies and Montana Deere were second and third, respectively.
     
    The Wolves took first in the 200 freestyle relay with the quartet of Chlouber, Foote, Jon Matanane and Roselius, and the team of Jackson Baugh, Guy Johnson, Luca Ludwig and Branden Duff finished third.
     
    Matanane was third individually in the 200-meter freestyle.
     
    Shawnee’s 400-meter relay crew of Chlouber, Foote, Matanane and Roselius took first place, while Heon, Kalies, Schultz and Winegardner placed third. The Wolves took second in the 200 medley relay with the team of Duff, Schultz, Heon and Rohr Raney.
     
    For the Lady Wolves, Veronica Ortiz was first in the 100-meter breaststroke. Ortiz was second in the 200 freestyle, and she joined Coral Vandyne, Breanna Barnett and Myranda Troup in placing second in the 200 medley relay.
     
    Troup was second in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and Magan Smith was second in the 500-meter freestyle.
     
    Ortiz, Barnett, Vandyne and Troup also teamed up to record a second-place outing in the 200-meter freestyle relay, and Vandyne and Barnett were second and third, respectively, in the 100 backstroke.
     
    Tecumseh High School’s Kaleb Hatton placed third in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, and Seminole’s Julianne Zehren was third in the 50 and 100 freestyle races.
