    Second half sinks Lady Chieftains

A 31-14 Holdenville run in the second half was Seminole’s downfall Friday as the Lady Chieftains suffered a 48-25 setback.

Seminole trailed just 17-11 after two quarters.

“We beat them a month ago, 39-38, and we thought [Friday’s game] would be tough,” said SHS coach Harlon House. “We couldn’t throw it in the ocean, and we got into foul trouble and couldn’t recover.”

The Lady Chieftains were 10-for-50 (20 percent) from the field.

Whitney Sinor led Seminole with eight points. Liz Davis and Hannah Hoover led Holdenville with 11 and 10, respectively.

Now 4-9, the Lady Chieftains will go to Perkins-Tryon next week for the 66 Conference Tournament. They will face Meeker at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
