  • The Tecumseh Savages improved to 14-2 Tuesday night, pulling away from McLoud 62-48 behind a double-double from Colton Owen.

Owen went for 21 points — including 11 in the decisive third quarter — and 11 rebounds for Tecumseh, which pushed its winning streak to three games.

The Savages led by just four (24-20) at halftime, but rode a 23-12 third quarter to open up a comfortable lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Tecumseh’s Clayton Baquera was held scoreless, but dished out six assists in the third quarter and netted a dozen for the game. Teammate Alan Brewer pitched in 17 points, including three treys.

McLoud’s Michael Byington scored a team-high 19 points, while fellow Redskins Klayton Adams and Joseph Wood each chipped in nine.

Tecumseh will head to Jones for the Jones Tournament starting Thursday, while McLoud will travel to the Kingfisher Invitational. That tournament also starts Thursday.
