The Indians led 13-10 to start the second stanza, but came out on the short side of a 20-4 run that put the Chieftains up 30-17 at intermission.

Asher came ever so close to reclaiming the driver’s seat, out-scoring Wetumka 17-12 in the third quarter and 23-18 in the fourth.

Zach Fowler fueled Asher’s efforts with a game-high 25 points. Wetumka’s Tyler Cruce was next with 24.

Tim Johnson of Asher and Dakota Briggs of Wetumka each netted 10 points.

Asher falls into consolation action with an 8:45 p.m. meeting today versus Earlsboro. Wetumka and Allen will square off at 8:45 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.
