The Oklahoma Youth Orchestra will perform its winter concert Feb. 3.
The Winter Concert for the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3, in the Petree Recital Hall on the Oklahoma City University campus, beginning at 3 p.m.
The Oklahoma Youth Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras, which has enrolled 350 students in ten ensembles; the OYO is composed of 90 of the most talented high school musicians.
Featured on the concert is the Suite from Swan Lake by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Nimrod from the Enigma Variations by Sir Edward Elgar, and featured soloist Clayton Smith in the Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra, composed by Ney Rosauro.
The concert is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the Kirkpatrick Foundation, and Chesapeake Energy.
