Earlsboro’s Lady Wildcats fell into a 13-8 hole after the first quarter Thursday, but ultimately put forth a rally that landed them a 48-35 win over Wellston and a spot in Saturday’s championship game of the Tri-County Tournament.

Earlsboro’s Lady Wildcats fell into a 13-8 hole after the first quarter Thursday, but ultimately put forth a rally that landed them a 48-35 win over Wellston and a spot in Saturday’s championship game of the Tri-County Tournament.

Earlsboro trailed by just one point (23-22) at the break. Kourtney Jones further fueled the rally by tying the game at 29 in the third quarter, and teammate Demi Coon connected on a 3-point field goal that gave the Lady Wildcats the lead for good.

Earlsboro led 33-29 to start the fourth.

Coon finished with a team-high 17 points, and Jones came away with 15. Wellston’s Lakota Thompson earned high-scoring honors with 19.

The Lady Wildcats will meet Dale at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the title game. Wellston falls into an encounter with Davenport at 5 p.m. Saturday for third place.
