  • Sutv Meely’s game-high 15 points were not enough for Tecumseh Saturday as the Lady Savages dropped a 41-34 decision to host Jones in the Jones Invitational’s consolation championship game.

“It was a good tournament for us overall,” Lady Savages coach Amy Shelby said. “We were fighting sickness all week, with the flu going around, but we had other players step up and take control for us.”

Tecumseh fell behind by nine after one quarter, but battled back to cut the deficit to seven heading into the break. The Lady Savages matched Jones for 15 points in the third quarter and six in the fourth.

Jalyn Williams added four for Tecumseh.

The loss drops Tecumseh to 6-13 on the season. The Lady Savages will next play host to Seminole Tuesday.
