Shawnee’s Wolves and Lady Wolves each picked up first-place team finishes Thursday at Duncan’s Simmons Center, and came home with top results in 14 events.
The Lady Wolves, champions with 99 points, edged runner-up Chickasha by two. Duncan was third with 12 points.
The Shawnee girls took first in the 200-meter medley relay and 200 freestyle relay with Myranda Troup, Veronica Ortiz, Kaitlin Hampton and Breanna Barnett. Ortiz was first individually in the 200 freestyle, and Hampton and Barnett were first and second, respectively, in the 200 individual medley.
Troup was first in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle, and Magan Smith was second in the 400 freestyle and third in the 100 breaststroke. Hampton was first in the 100 backstroke.
For the Wolves, who took first as a team with 127 points, the crew of Cade Chlouber, Jon Matanane, Michael Heon and Mark Roselius claimed first in the 200 freestyle relay.
Chlouber, Matanane and Roselius were joined by Weston Foote to take first in the 400 freestyle relay, while the team of Rohr Raney, Guy Johnson, Logan Schultz and Sean Winegardner finished second.
Roselius was first in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, while Heon was third in the 100. Matanane and Johnson were first and second, respectively, in the 200 freestyle.
Chlouber was second in the 100 butterfly, and Josh Kalies was second in the 400 freestyle.
Winegardner was third in the 200 individual medley.
Schultz claimed first in the 100 breaststroke, and Foote was second in the 100 backstroke. Foote, Winegardner, Heon and Schultz teamed up for second place in the 200 medley relay, and Branden Duff, Jackson Baugh, Johnson and Raney were third in the 200 freestyle relay.
Duncan was the boys’ runner-up with 90 team points.
Tecumseh’s Kaleb Hatton placed first in the 400 freestyle, and was second in the 200 individual medley. For Seminole, Julianne Zehren was second in the 100 freestyle.
Bethel’s Destiny Osife was second in the 100 breaststroke.
Shawnee will host Ponca City and Mustang Thurdsay, Jan. 31, beginning at 4 p.m. at the YMCA.
