Citizen Potawatomi Nation is accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program. The program is available for any citizen of a federally recognized tribe within the Citizen Potawatomi service area including Potawatomi, Lincoln, Cleveland, Paine, and a portion of Oklahoma County.
Applications will be accepted until March 29 for the winter season to assist tribal citizens with the utility bill primarily associated with heating the home. If a tribal citizen has received LIHEAP assistance through the Department of Human Services or another social service agency they are not eligible to receive assistance again for this season.
Applications can be completed in person at 300 E. Walnut, Tecumseh or by calling 405-598-0797.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides winter heating, energy crisis, summer cooling and/or weatherization and other energy-related home repair assistance to eligible low-income households throughout each year during specific application periods.
