Behind 18 points from Cody Campbell, Chandler withstood a furious second-half comeback from Kingfisher and shut out the Yellowjackets in an extra session to take a 54-45 home win Saturday night.
Chandler’s Mason Myers sent the game into overtime by knocking down a clutch free-throw late in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 45.
Chandler (6-11) held Class 3A’s No. 17 Yellowjackets to just 10 first-half points, but Kingfisher stormed back with 35 in the last two quarters.
Kingfisher took a four-point lead in the fourth quarter before Chandler’s late heroics forced overtime.
In the extra session, four different Lions contributed in the scoring column and the defense held Kingfisher scoreless during a 9-0 run to end the game.
Hunter Hudson, with 11 points, joined Campbell as the only Lions in double figures. Teammate Rodney Lewis added nine.
Three Yellowjackets scored in double-figures.
Chandler is 2-0 so far a stretch of four games in five days. After a 45-36 home win over Perkins-Tryon Friday and Saturday’s win over Kingfisher, the Lions will travel to Jones Monday and Wellston Tuesday to round out the marathon.
