  • Earlsboro splits games with Stratford

  • Behind Brittany Coon’s 11 fourth-quarter points, the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats were able to pull away from Stratford, 65-49, Saturday night. The Earlsboro boys were not as fortunate, falling 81-42 despite a strong first quarter.

  • Behind Brittany Coon’s 11 fourth-quarter points, the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats were able to pull away from Stratford, 65-49, Saturday night.
     
    Megan Ashley scored a game high 23 for Earlsboro (21-3), which was clinging to an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
     
    That’s when Coon went off. Coon got into foul trouble early and scored just four points in the first 24 minutes, but got the buckets to fall in crunch time.
     
    Demi Coon joined her sister in double-figures with 16. Ashley scored nine of her 23 from 3-point range.
     
    The Earlsboro boys were not as fortunate, falling 81-42 despite a strong first quarter.
     
    Playing with a short bench, the Wildcats played to a 17-13 deficit in the first quarter, but were shellacked 44-14 in the middle quarters.
     
    Connor Kelsay led the visitors with a dozen points. Derick McCormick pitched in 11 and Ethan Bateman notched 10.
     
    The Earlsboro seniors will take their home court for the last time Tuesday against Sasakwa.
