Voters in the Grove Public School district in Shawnee will decide two school bond propositions Tuesday totaling $470,000. A fact sheet from the district indicates there will be no projected tax increases for property owners if the bonds are approved.
According to a fact sheet provided by a school official, Proposition No. 1 asks for $290,000 to improve and upgrade the school’s security system, as well as to construct a bad weather canopy on the area of the northeast bus loading doors. Funds also will be earmarked for driveway and paving repairs and to construct a bus barn.
Proposition No. 2 asks voters to approve $180,000 in transportation funds, with the fact sheet showing those funds will be used to purchase two new school buses.
According to the fact sheet, there is no projected tax increase for property owners in the Grove district with passage of these school bonds.
Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
