McLoud library site of legislative breakfast on Feb. 22
The McLoud Public Library welcomes several state and area representatives at a Legislative Breakfast, set for 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in the Milburn Room of the library, 133 N. Main Street.
The program is for ages 18 and up, and will give local residents a chance to meet some of their state legislators, as well as representatives from offices of legislators who have been invited to attend.
The program is a cooperative effort hosted by the library, Friends of the McLoud Library and the McLoud Chamber of Commerce.
Registration is not required to attend.

‘Cool Teen Cooking’ class set in McLoud
The McLoud Public Library continues its monthly “Cool Teen Cooking" series, a cooperative program with the Pottawatomie County OSU Extension office, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the library’s Milburn Room.
Sonya McDaniel, Pottawatomie County OSU Extension Educator, will lead the class, where students learn to make different items each month with new cooking techniques and some easy recipes.
Space is limited so registration is required and may be completed through staff at the library or by calling 964-2960.
Join Shawnee’s Public Library’s Preschool Story Time twice on Tuesdays
The Shawnee Public Library invites some of its youngest visitors to take part in Preschool Story Time at the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
The library hosts Preschool Story Time twice a week, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, beginning Feb. 19 and then following at those times each Tuesday through the end of April. The programs take place in the library’s Story Time Room.
Each 45-minute story time session is geared to children ages 3, 4 or 5 years old. It will feature a variety of books, board stories, music, rhymes and creative movement activities for the children.
Registration is not required to take part.
