Macomb’s Lady Hornets scored 15 points in each of the first three quarters Thursday en route to stinging Agra 53-29 in a losers bracket contest of a Class A regional tournament.
Macomb led 15-4 after the first quarter, 30-12 at halftime and 45-18 to start the fourth quarter.
“We played well tonight. That’s the best game we’ve played in a long time,” said Macomb coach Brett Brooks.
Three Lady Hornets reached double figures, with Felecia Cope and Brittany Bluford picking up high-scoring honors at 13 apiece. Shania Pace finished with 12 as Macomb improved to 14-11.
The Lady Hornets will face Oaks Mission at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
In other regional tournament games Thursday, Earlsboro’s boys saw their season come to an end with a 65-36 setback to Tupelo in a Class B encounter at Coleman. The Earlsboro girls topped Tupelo in their game, 59-37, and will face seventh-ranked Erick at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Elgin in the regional finals.
Demi Coon led the Lady Wildcats with 16 points, and Megan Ashley supplied 13. Kourtney Jones chipped in a dozen, and Brittany Coon added 11 as the No. 10 Lady Wildcats improved to 24-3.
Asher split a pair of Class B regional tournament games at Oilton Thursday, with the seventh-ranked Indians hammering Aline-Cleo, 88-45. The Lady Indians fell victim to Timberlake, 68-35, and will face the Cave Springs-Claremore Christian winner at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a losers bracket game at Beggs.
The Asher boys will take on the Cave Springs-Coyle winner at 8 p.m. Saturday at Beggs.
