Shawnee’s Wolves placed first in two relays Saturday, and finished in fifth place overall at the Class 5A state meet at the Jenks Aquatic Center.
The Lady Wolves — working with just six entrants — picked up a fourth-place relay time and a fifth-place relay time to finish sixth overall as a team.
For the Wolves, the quartet of Cade Chlouber, Jon Matanane, Weston Foote and Mark Roselius recorded the top time of 1:32.05 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Matanane, Chlouber and Roselius were joined by Sean Winegardner in finishing first in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:45.10.
It was the first time Shawnee notched first in an event at a state meet.
Individually for SHS, Roselius was second in the 50 freestyle at 22.61 seconds.
