Dave and Melba Coffman of Shawnee will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Blackburn Chapel Fellowship Hall. No gifts are requested.
They were married March 1, 1963, in Shawnee.
Dave retired after 40 years as the senior systems engineer from Fife Corporation. Melba retired as a nurse from Liberty Academy.
They are members of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, where Dave is a deacon. Melba is a member of WMU and the local county extension group Pott. County HCE where she has served and held many offices. They are both members of their churches OWL’s program.
After marriage and graduation from OSU, the couple moved to Tulsa where Dave was employed by North American Aviation. He then was hired from the corporation which they moved to Del City and then Bethel Acres, where they currently reside. While in Shawnee, Melba received her LPN degree and was the nurse at Liberty Academy for seven years. The Coffmans enjoy traveling, OSU, their kids and grandchildren, and their many church activities.
Dave is the son of the late Reverend Herman and Roma Magnino Coffman of Shawnee.
Melba is the daughter of Bud and the late Florence Honeycutt of Shawnee.
Their children are Jeff and Lisa Coffman of Flower Mound, Texas, Bryan and Susan Watson of Shawnee, Cindy and Billy Lodopdon of Shawnee, and Craig and Lisa Coffman of Franklin, Tenn.
Their grandchildren are Kyle, Andrew, John, Chelsey, Matt, Kinsey, Katie, Eleanor, Olivia, Riley and Carter.
