  • It was business as usual for Class 2A No. 2 Dale Thursday night.

The Lady Pirates employed 15 players and 10 scored in a 71-26 riddling of Central Marlow in a Class 2A regional tournament winners’ bracket game.

Dale (25-1) received double-figure scoring from Brayden Newton (15), Breck Clark (13) and Jaelin Flewallen (11).

Newton knocked down three shots from 3-point range, all coming in the first quarter. Clark was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Raegan Holt and Lexes Satterwhite recorded two field goals apiece from beyond the 3-point line.

Dale, which never trailed, held a 24-6 lead after one quarter and was up 46-13 at the intermission.

Dale was 10-of-14 from the stripe.

“We played very consistent on both ends of the floor the first three quarters of the game,” Dale coach Josh Forsythe said. “We had a lot of effort and lots of intensity. We need the same thing Saturday.”

Dale stays in the winners’ bracket tonight at 6:30 at Rush Springs. The Lady Pirates will oppose Amber-Pocasset.
