Late free throws boost Prague

Mark Montgomery hit three clutch free throws in the final two minutes, Comanche missed a desperation half-court heave and Prague escaped with a 49-47 win in losers’ bracket action Friday night in a Class 3A regional tournament.

Tyler Ouderkirk scored 19 points for the Red Devils, who move within one game of a berth in an area tournament.

Montgomery, who finished with 10 points, hit one of two free throws with seconds remaining to give Prague its final two-point cushion. The Devils were down six points as late as the third quarter.

Prague advances to take on Crooked Oak today at 3 p.m. for a spot in the area tournament.
