  • Tecumseh’s Lady Savages opened their 2013 season Monday with a 16-1 drubbing of Newcastle.
     
    The game was halted after three innings on the run rule.
     
    Shyanna Sigman led Tecumseh’s 14-hit offense at 3-for-3, including a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to end the contest. Sigman finished the day with five RBI.
     
    Caylie Patton, Hilary Babbit and Kelsie Carsten notched two hits apiece and combined for seven runs batted in. Patton clubbed a triple and Babbit a double.
     
    Tristan Trice struck for a two-run homer in Tecumseh’s seven-run third inning.
     
    Now 1-0, the Lady Savages will go to Konawa at 4 p.m. today.
