  • The Shawnee Planning Commission heard four items at their Wednesday meeting.

A rezoning request was approved unanimously for property located at 4016 and 4020 N. Kickapoo Street. The property was originally zoned residential, and was changed to Neighborhood Commercial. This zoning will allow the current owner to find a business to purchase the property. However, no business is under contract with the owner at this time.

Another rezoning request changed property at 18901 Brangus Road from Agricultural to Rural Estates. This will allow the owner to divide the property into three 1.6-acre lots for single-family homes.

The commission voted unanimously to grant the request.

The last two requests were for a preliminary and a final plat for Chris’ Addition, which is located on East Bradley Street, west of Lantana Court. The plat allowed for a four-lot subdivision, upon which four single-family homes would be built.

These items will be heard at the next Shawnee City Commission meeting to be approved by the full commission at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18 at Shawnee City Hall in Commission Chambers.
