A Mexico man has drawn a 41-month term in federal prison for an investigation which began last year.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that Samuel SandovalL-Sanchez, 29, of Mexico, was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment for illegal reentry of a previously deported alien.

Charges arose from an investigation by the Okfuskee County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The defendant was indicted in August, 2012 and pled guilty in September, 2012.

The indictment alleged that on or about July 1, 2012, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, an alien, was found in the United States after having been removed from the United States on or about November 18, 2010, at or near San Ysidro, Calif., and not having obtained the express consent of the Attorney General of the United States or his successor, the Secretary of Homeland Security.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over today’s hearing.

The defendant remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
