  • Lady Pirates fall 5-2 at home

  • Dale posted a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth over Class 6A’s top-ranked Moore Tuesday, but the Lady Lions were able to close out with a 5-2 final to push the Lady Pirates to 1-1 on the season.

  • Dale posted a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth over Class 6A’s top-ranked Moore Tuesday, but the Lady Lions were able to close out with a 5-2 final to push the Lady Pirates to 1-1 on the season.
     
    Moore tied the game in the top of the fifth, and added their final three runs in the top of the seventh.
     
    Dale picked up seven singles in the contest. Makensi Stith scored a run and batted one in, and Taylor Anderson also notched an RBI. Danielle Dockrey scored Dale’s other run.
     
    “They can really play some defense,” Dale coach Andy Powell said of the Lady Lions.
     
    Moore picked up 10 hits and committed one error to Dale’s three.
     
    The Lady Pirates will visit Stroud at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a seven-inning game and a five-inning game.
